Coordinating closely with FEMA, the FPC took TV producers, reportes and camerapersons to tour FEMA's newly-renovated National Response FPC tour to FEMAs NRCCCoordination Center (NRCC).  The foreign journalists were among the first group of media representatives to eyewitness and document how advanced technology is being used at NRCC to activate and deploy teams of emergency response professionals from federal agencies and the private sector to combat any natural or manmade incidents.  FEMA Director David Paulison was on site to explain and demonstrate how NRCC works.  The reporters engaged senior FEMA officials in a series of one-on-one interviews and did standup reporting.  TV crews took the opportunity to film NRCC specialists and electronic devices in action and were impressed with the improved FEMA operations.  Material gathered in the tour will be used in reporters' special anniversary reports on Hurricane Katrina aftermath.
